Donna,Kathy and the Conspiracy to Destroy The Family
In Juwanza Kunjufu's book Countering the Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys,he talks about the Donna/Kathy theory and how what type of mother children have can determine whether a child fails or suceeds in life.Donna is the ideal to work toward like the Proverbs 31 woman in the Bible. In our instant gratification oriented society,becoming a Donna is extremely difficult but not impossible to achieve. The life of a Kathy is not exactly a crystal stair either. However,being somewhere neatly in between a Donna and a Kathy, otherwise known as being mediocre is easy. So,that is what most of us opt for. Tragically,this is destroying the family, our communities, our country and sending the world to hell in the oil jacket. After all,the hand that rocks the cradle is the is the hand that rules the world. It is a bitter pill to swallow that nice girls finish last.
Recently I responded to a question on Yahoo Answers or MSN Q&A about this same issue. The question was something like: "Why is it that in college it seems as if the good girl always finishes last. The fact that we don't want to party all night long and have one night stands,why does this create problems for us nice girls to find a guy that will like us. A guy that will actually want to have a relationship that will actually have a chance at lasting? Guys please tell me why." My response was "I know this is not that comforting to you now but you will be richly rewarded by God for sticking to your values,honoring your parents and the way that they raised you and being a good girl. You get rewards like finishing college with decent grades rather than flunking out like all the goof-offs who forgot the real reason they are supposed to be in college for one. Influential professors and others will write glowing letters of reference for you in a heartbeat for graduate school or jobs because you work hard and don't have a skanky reputation for showing too much skin,flirting,or even sleeping with men(or even women in powerful positions) to get a job or promotion, a good (or just a passing)grade,or getting guys to do your work for you. Prosperity in your career and building wealth and will enable to afford to go to the places where you can meet top quality men with good morals, interesting personalities,common interests with you,and successful careers. Once you meet one of these great guys,he courts you effectively,wins your heart and hand,he will be supportive of your career,loving and satisfying in and out of the bedroom,faithful to you in marriage,eager to do his fair share in domestic chores, willing and able to support you and your kids if you want to drop out of the work force for a while and be a stay at home mom or even home school your children. At forty you will look a heck of a lot younger than these party girls and tired tramps will at the same age,because you took better care of yourself and regarded your body as a temple. So YES, nice girls finish last but they usually finish happier,richer,healthier and more beautiful throughout their longer lives."
